FAQ

Group tours in France: your questions

When is the best time for a group tour of France?

May, June and September are ideal across most regions. Provence lavender flowers from late June to late July, and Normandy is at its best from spring to early autumn. In August, Paris is quieter but some restaurants close.

How do tour coaches work in Paris?

Coach parking in central Paris is limited and the city has a low-emission zone. We use compliant coaches, designated drop-off points near each visit and a planned parking slot, so the group walks as little as possible.

Which French sights should groups book early?

The Louvre, Versailles and the Eiffel Tower all run timed group entry, and Mont-Saint-Michel's abbey and the Loire châteaux get busy in summer. We reserve group slots as soon as your dates are confirmed.

How do groups visit Mont-Saint-Michel and the D-Day beaches?

Coaches park on the mainland at Mont-Saint-Michel and a free shuttle takes the group to the island. On the D-Day beaches we use specialist guides; around the 6 June anniversary the area is very busy, so book well ahead.

Can France be combined with Switzerland, Italy or Spain?

Yes. France connects by coach with Switzerland, the Italian lakes and northern Spain. Our multi-country itinerary runs from Paris through Switzerland to Italy, and the France group itinerary covers Paris, Normandy and the Loire.
