FAQ

Group tours in the United Kingdom: your questions

When is the best time for a group tour of the UK?

May to September offers the longest days and the best conditions in Scotland. Hotels in Edinburgh fill early in August because of the Festival, and London is busy throughout the summer.

Do overseas visitors need an ETA for the UK?

Many do. Visitors from many countries, including EU nationals, now need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travel. We remind your agency early so every traveller applies in time.

How do tour coaches work in London?

Central London has the Ultra Low Emission Zone, the Congestion Charge and strict stopping rules. We use compliant coaches and plan designated drop-off points near each visit.

Which UK sights should groups book early?

The Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Edinburgh Castle and West End theatre shows all need group bookings, and Stonehenge runs timed entry. In summer we reserve as soon as your dates are confirmed.

Can the UK be combined with Ireland, France or the Netherlands?

Yes. Ireland is a ferry crossing away, and coaches reach France through the Channel Tunnel. See our France and Netherlands pages, or the UK group itinerary.
