About our experiences

Combine the Netherlands with France or the UK

Amsterdam is about five hours by coach from Paris, with a stop in Bruges or Brussels, so the Netherlands fits easily into a wider European circuit. We quote it as one programme.

Sample itinerary

Netherlands: Amsterdam, tulip fields, Rotterdam and The Hague

Classic Holland by coach: Amsterdam's canals, the windmills of Zaanse Schans, the fishing village of Volendam, the tulip fields, then The Hague, Rotterdam and Kinderdijk. A private coach and an English-speaking tour leader travel with the group throughout, and distances are short.

Good to know

Practical notes for groups in the Netherlands

  • Keukenhof opens only in spring (roughly mid-March to mid-May), so group entry slots should be booked early.
  • Amsterdam restricts tour coaches in the city centre, so we plan drop-off points and use canal boats or walking routes.

FAQ

Group tours in the Netherlands: your questions

When is the best time for a group tour of the Netherlands?

Mid-March to mid-May is tulip season, when Keukenhof is open. Summer is lively and suits canal cruises and coastal visits. King's Day (27 April) is festive but very crowded in Amsterdam.

Can tour coaches enter central Amsterdam?

Amsterdam restricts tour coaches in the city centre, so groups use designated coach stops and explore by canal boat and on foot. Outside the city, coaches reach Zaanse Schans, Volendam and Keukenhof directly.

How can groups visit the Anne Frank House?

Tickets are released online about six weeks ahead and sell out quickly, so we book as soon as the window opens for your dates.

Are bike tours possible for groups?

Yes. Guided bike tours on quieter routes are a popular optional experience. For mixed-ability groups we suggest canal cruises or walking tours instead.

Can the Netherlands be combined with other countries?

Yes. Belgium (Bruges and Brussels) is an easy coach extension on request, and longer circuits continue to France or cross to the UK. See our France page or the Netherlands group itinerary.
